Menstrual Love Challenge

Get rid of PMS for good

What if I told you that women didn’t have to suffer from PMS, mood swings, and cramps every month? What if I told you even women with conditions like PCOS and endometriosis could experience less pain?

It kills me that our culture has normalized period pain. When I was young, I had to skip school two days/ month because of pain. I would be doubled over in pain, feeling like I was dying. When I went to the doctor, I was told “this is normal.” My heart breaks for every woman being told this ridiculous lie.
What I want to share with you is what I have learned about my body. I have learned what it means to be living in rhythm with my cycle. I have learned that cycles in which I have done a great job taking care of myself, I have no symptoms and I glide through menstruation like a breeze. But, in cycles when I have been stressed, not taken care of myself, and stuffed my face full of junk food, my menstrual cycle sucks.

And, it’s not just me. I have noted this for hundreds of women around the world that I have talked to. Taking care of yourself in the week to two weeks before your period will make for a loving menstrual cycle. This is why I am participating in the Menstrual Love Challenge (affiliate link). Getting rid of this normalized thing we call “PMS” is easy -- if only we are reminded to take care of ourselves. And honestly, we could all use some community around this, right?

In ancient times, there were “red tents” where women would commune with each other while menstruating. The men of the community would take over all work of cooking, cleaning, and taking care of children so that every month the women could go off and commune in these tents. It was the “slowing down” and taking care of self that was prioritized. But, our society has lost that. So, let’s reclaim it! Join me for the Menstrual Love Challenge. You’ll get daily tips and inspiration to practice self-care in your inbox. Then, you will commune with sisters to hold each other, love each other, support each other.
