What is trauma? Is it getting hit by a car? Not necessarily but you may feel like you have been hit by a truck. Trauma occurs when the nervous system has been upregulated from an emotional or physical event. This starts as a protective mechanism as the body braces against further injury but leads to a hypersensitive, hypervigilant nervous system. Sometimes we don't ever know the cause of the initial insult but once the nervous system is activated it can take a specialized approach to calm it back down.
My friend and colleague, Dr. Aimie Apigian, specializes in trauma medicine. As a world leader in this field, she has helped a vast amount of individuals overcome trauma and get on with their lives.
And right now, she is offering an online 21 day journey into trauma healing program.
Dr. Apigian has to say....
We Live More Disconnected Than We Realize
"It's all so overwhelming"
"I don't think I can take any more"
"It's been too much"
You are here physically, but not emotionally. Your energy is not into this moment. You stare at a screen. Your mind wanders off in a meeting or a conversation. Sometimes you have physical symptoms like headaches, nausea, joint pain, or stomachaches that you think might be stress-related.
HOW IS THAT WORKING OUT FOR YOU??
You've tried your best to change the pattern; tried to strengthen your willpower, but your body will "sabotage" you by shutting down or over-reacting when you don't want it to. Certain therapies keep the focus on just the brain and don't address the body, and may actually make things worse.
This course teaches you to understand why your body does what it does, understand which state it is in and how to shift it into a state of more safety and security in a matter of minutes.
