    What is the recommended dosage?

We recommend starting with one scoop (1/2 scoop if your body is not accustomed to high quality adrenal support and greens or if you're usually sensitive to supplements). As your body detoxes, you can then work your way up to 2 or 3 scoops daily. A scoop is approximately 3.6 grams.

What are the directions for use? Can we drink it in a hot beverage?

Mighty Maca tastes great! You can mix it in water, juice, hot tea or with your favorite shake/smoothie. Mighty Maca tastes great in a hot tea with lemon juice. Mix it up and be creative with your Mighty Maca routine!

What time of day should I take it?

Everyone is different so listen to your body and see how you do with it. Start with taking it at the same time in the morning or mid afternoon and see if you also need a scoop later in the afternoon. It is energizing but not a stimulant. Dr Anna has even had some clients that like it in the evening and because it is an adaptogen, it does not interrupt sleep for those that do not suffer with high cortisol at nighttime.

How many servings are in one canister of Mighty Maca?

There is approximately 60 serving per canister. Serving size is 1 scoop, approximately 3.6 grams (0.72tsp).

What do I do with the 2 spoons that come with my canister?

It comes with a scoop inside for measuring and a mighty maca bamboo spoon for stirring as you sip your Mighty Maca beverage.

How many mg of Maca is in each serving?

Each scoop/serving of Mighty Maca® Plus has 604mg of organic maca.

How much Green tea is in Mighty Maca Pus?

There is approximately 25 mg of Green Tea Aqueous Extract in the Mighty Maca® Plus.

    Is Mighty Maca Sweetened?

Mighty Maca® Plus does not contain any sugar. It is flavored with natural ingredients of peppermint and orange with a minute amount of Stevia.

Is the Maca Raw or gelatinized?

Our Maca is raw organic Maca from Peru. We've had the best results with this combination with 30+ superfood ingredients.

Is Mighty Maca plus Gluten free?

The product is certified gluten-free. Our barley grass and our beta-glucan are all pre-germination. Our 30+ superfood ingredients in Mighty Maca® Plus were scientifically tested and the conclusive results were made that the product is gluten-free through allergen testing for gluten protein as well as secretory IgA testing

At The Girlfriend Doctor, the testing of our brand's supplements for heavy metals is a regular part of our Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and internal product quality assurance procedures. In addition to testing for heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury, more), all of our dietary supplements are tested for: the presence of microorganisms, yeast and mold, bile tolerant gram negative bacteria, e.coli, salmonella and staphylococcus aureus and gluten and more.

Does Mighty Maca Plus break your fast?

The answer about breaking your fast is this: It depends on what you are trying to achieve. There are so many types of fasts. With Keto-Green, we are trying to get our body into Ketosis and be a fat burner; but most importantly become Alkaline!

I just started Mighty Maca plus and feel a lot of detoxification/stomach issues/bloating. What should I do?

The most common "intolerance" to this product is detoxification (this is what makes Mighty Maca so good!) that happens quite quickly when you begin using Mighty Maca. This can cause things like headaches, gas and bloating, digestive issues and just generally feeling badly. If these are your symptoms, just know that detoxification is a GOOD thing, even though it may be uncomfortable during the process. The symptoms usually pass within a few days to a week and a good electrolyte supplement, like LMNT powder or Tri-Salts (both of which Dr. Anna recommends), can help a lot.

If you have a very sensitive digestive system to begin with, adding this product may exasperate it temporarily. Dr. Anna's Mighty Maca is generally well tolerated by most women and contains a number of other helpful ingredients that help with energy, hormone balance, and increased nutrition.

Some people may need to reduce the dosage of Mighty Maca Plus to half or even less and then gradually increase it over time so your body slowly goes through the detox and becomes accustomed to the rich fiber and green healthy gut nutrients. If you are suffering with gut health issues, Dr. Anna highly recommends taking a high quality probiotic

Can pregnant/breastfeeding women use Mighty Maca plus?

Due to the detoxifying ingredients of Mighty Maca® Plus, we do not recommend it for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Do you recommend Mighty Maca plus for women trying to conceive?

Yes, we do recommend it for women who are trying to become pregnant.

    Does Maca increase Estrogen?

Maca is not estrogenic; it is an adaptogen and helps balance estrogen levels.

Can you take Mighty Maca Plus if you currently have or have previously had Breast Cancer?

There are no contraindicating ingredients in Mighty Maca® Plus, however Dr Anna says "I always recommend women discuss any new prescription, supplement or over-the-counter product with their primary care doctor. In the case of women having a previous breast cancer diagnosis and/or treatment, I strongly suggest women always talk with their oncologists".

Can Hashimoto’s or Thyroid patients use Mighty Maca® Plus?

A scoop of Mighty Maca® Plus consists of approximately 75 micrograms of iodine. We recommend that our Hashimoto's clients start with half of a scoop and see how your numbers do. We also recommend that for those concerned about adding new supplements to their routine due to health related conditions that they consult with their practitioner before starting.
